What is…The Baby Blanket Project?
The Baby Blanket Project gives mothers and babies in need a better life by providing six basic items:
- Baby Blanket
- Bib
- Book
- Bottle
- Pair of Booties or Socks
- Stuffed Animal or Rattle
With the gift of a "Baby Blanket" package, a new mother can use her money on other necessities such as food and clothing.
Baby books are included in the "Baby Blanket" packages with the particular hope that mothers will read to their babies and therefore provide an early start to good education.
Toiletries kits and “care cards”--containing ten tips on the emotional and physical nurturing of a new baby--are attached to the Baby Blanket packages.
The Baby Blanket Project has raised approximately $5,000 and has distributed over 400 "Baby Blanket" packages to disadvantaged mothers and babies in the USA and Israel.
